I found this picture from a Lambert Post tour a long time ago. I believe we were at a steak and shake in Ohio. I miss playing music.

Couch Potato

I started working around some songs for OF. They're simple but a lot more pop-like than the others. I'm looking to buy something that can hold more sounds too, before our string of red barn shows, aka two red barn shows. It'll be fun to play a show again. I think.
I'm working on a cubism painting. It's not easy, it's frustrating really.
Also, I'm throwing around ideas for some short stories (for school). The main idea so far is a story about a guy who only dreams of pink flamingos. Not sure what thats about.
I bought a Bukowski book of poetry over the summer, and have just now started going through it, here's one:

hello, how are you?

this fear of being what they are:
dead.

at least they are not out on the street, they
are careful to stay indoors, those
pasty mad who sit alone before their tv sets,
their lives full of canned, mutilated laughter.

their ideal neighborhood
of parked cars
of little green lawns
of little homes
the little doors that open and close
as their relatives visit
throughout the holidays
the doors closing
behind the dying who die so slowly
behind the dead who are still alive
in your quiet average neighborhood
of winding streets
of agony
of confusion
of horror
of fear
of ignorance.

a dog standing behind a fence.

a man silent at the window.

A few weeks ago i started watching Inland Empire, a movie by Stephen Lynch. It was about 9 or so at night, and i was alone in my room. Simply put, i had to turn it off, it was so strange. I am coming back to it though, in small bits at a time simply out of fear. It is great. I have netflix, which is great cause i can watch inland empire and Eraserhead is on the way. Cool.

Sniffles

Looking through old e-mails today i stumbled upon some from a while back when Lambert Post was still alive and kicking. I thought about our ohio trips, freezing in the snow, eating dunkin donuts and being careful.
The last couple days have been nothing but nostalgia. Good and bad.

Saw Husband and Wife and All the Day Holiday last night with Stump. ATDH were good, they're better then when i last saw them about a year ago.
Husband and Wife were excellent. They projected slides on to the wall behind them during their set. The best moment of the night was when they played a song with a slide showing a womans face. The slide, however, was put in backwards. I'm not sure why i enjoyed that so much, but it really did it for me.
We got lost getting out of Anderson. Anderson. Anderson is a horrible place to get lost. Everything is concrete and run down. My windshield wipers are shit too so i couldn't see much. We just drove around till we finally found 9 and got back on the interstate. I got home and fell asleep as soon as i laid down. I've been enjoying sleeping a lot lately. Being lazy doesn't seem so big of a deal to me anymore. ?
School is really dragging today. Bummer. I am sick and it's freezing here.
I looked through e-mails this morning and found a few good ones from luke. I had a good laugh over them. One being a list of the ways Lambert Post could improve an image by being more metal. Hah. Luke.

A Good Headache

Came home early tonight for some reason. I weird feeling snuck up on me and took charge. Inspiration to make music is more alive than it ever has been, i can't wait to hear everything louder, to sing louder, to be a part of something and perform.

I'm watching "Surviving Picasso", a movie i found on the TV.

I have been looking at paintings by William De Kooning. I love them.

Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooa!

All day the Hadron Collider blew my mind.

Also...

This song called "going down" by White Williams was stuck in my head.

I am reading Stephen King short stories for school. They are good. One story depicts a devil man in a black suit with a huge fish in his mouth running after this kid. It was a terrifying image. "Everything's Eventual" is the title of the book, which is a cool name for a book. Oh Stephen, you're so clever!!!!

Bloggin' 4 realz

Here's a place for ideas, communication, people, friends, art, food, music, love, and faith. Cool.

This is what I have been listening to/looking at/thinking of lately:

This is animal collective playing two songs from the midi festival that goes on every year in the French Riviera. I don't know much about the event, but there are several videos of AC's performance on youtube. They're all really good. I suggest putting on a pair of headphones and listening to everything going on. Also, Stump uploaded "brother sport" a while ago, another song they played at the festival. It's great too!

This is a photograph by David Shrigley. He's an artist. I found him from his artwork he did for the band Deerhoof.

Joey Cook is a friend that lives in Cincinnati. Apparently, separate to Pomegranates, he has started a new project called Firs. It's really good! Everybody should go check it out.
